C4 Challenge

These challenges give participants a chance to test their ability to deal with fear and perseverance. With the support of their friends, co-workers, and our caring staff; participants work on a series of cables, platforms, and ropes that are 35 feet up to achieve their goals. If you can climb at ladder at home, you can succeed at the C4 Challenge...just bring your adrenaline, motivation, and a will to succeed!

This group of elements can be seen as the ultimate group or individual challenge. This complex is a vertical obstacle course that makes extensive use of safety equipment to keep participants from danger. With the component of "perceived risk" and natural fears, individuals work together to support one another, overcome obstacles, and grow stronger.

Burma Bridge:

Participants get to traverse a primitive looking bridge made of three main cables: a foot line and two hand lines that are connected by ropes at regular intervals. This element includes a long traverse of the ropes course and provides a great introduction to being up high with a moderate degree of difficulty.

Postman's Walk:

An element with only two parts: the foot and hand line. The foot line is a taut cable while the hand line is a thick rope with plenty of slack in it. The key to a successful and sturdy traverse is counterintuitive; participants must arrange themselves so they lean their bodyweight against the hand line, which means they will lean out slightly past their own feet. Although thrilling (or scary!) the more weight the participant puts against the hand line, the less slack (potential for wiggle and movement in the rope) there will be as they move across the element.

Jungle Line Walk:

This element uses a metal foot cable for balance as a participant moves from one high platform to another with a rope that runs overhead with many "grapevines" (vertical hand lines) dropping down as handholds.

Indiana Jones Bridge:

An element where participants plank to another that is 10 inches or so away and 35 feet off the ground. Were the challenge to jump the same distance on the ground it might not be that intimidating, however at a height of 35 feet, the walk through open space between planks takes on a new dimension of mental difficulty. This is done while walking among the pines and enjoy amazing views!

Zip Line:

The C4 Challenge Course concludes with a thrilling 370' zipline ride. No weight limit applies to C4 Challenge although participants should be able to climb and move freely on course.
